Technical specification of the Aluminium clad inward-opening window

Aluminium clad Tilt & Turn window

Aluminium Clad windows offered by Livingwood combine the benefits of a maintenance free external surface together with the beauty of the finished engineered timber internally. These two materials are brought together in perfect synergy achieving a highly sophisticated product.

This Aluminium Clad window system is especially beneficial in extreme weather conditions. Exposed areas at high altitudes and coastal locations experience much harsher weather and therefore would benefit from such a window.

Warranty
All products come with a five year warranty.

Tilt and turn window
The window opens inwards, in two different ways - the window opens fully inwards, hinged at the side, or tilts a little inwards from the top, into a ventilation position of 100 to 200 mm, depending on the window height, plus 'micro ventilation'. The permitted load on closures is max. 130 kg.

Casement window
This is the traditional inward-opening side-hung casement window; it can also be used as an emergency exit, if necessary. The permitted load on closures is max. 130 kg.

Tilt window
The window tilts inwards from the top, but only a little, to allow ventilation. The permitted load on closures is max. 130 kg

Non-opening window
This is the most inexpensive window that lets in light. The glass unit is fitted right into the jamb and the window cannot be opened.

Technical specification of the window:

  • Cross sections: jamb 78x78; frame 78x78; post between panels, vertical 105x78, horizontal 78x78; tenon-jointed window bar 54x78 and 83x78;
  • Laminated pinewood A1 to A3;
  • Closures: GU Unijet hinge system, Hoppe handles;
  • Glass and cores: double-glazed (26 mm) or triple-glazed (40 mm) glass unit; veneer or MDF core panel with expanded foam layer (26mm or 40mm);

The windows have double-glazed units or triple-glazed units for greater energy efficiency. The insulating glass units can consist of various types of panes, depending on the user's requirements - reinforced/safety glass, energy-saving or acoustic glass, glass with sun protection properties.
